Preschool Program

Each preschool costs $10,000 to renovate, equip and implement a feeding program targeting 130 children per year. You may choose to fundraise and fully fund the renovation of a preschool or sponsor a part of the cost of the programs as follows:

Preschool building renovations and refurbishment: $3 500

Preschool furniture and equipment: $ 2 500

Preschool meals for 130 children per year: $2000

Preschool material support and teacher training: $2000

Volunteer Program

Nhaka Foundation raises money to support the work carried out in the communities through the fee that volunteers pay. You can see details of what your fee covers under the "What We Do" tab. Volunteers are expected to pay the full fee as we rely on the money raised by volunteers to be able to support the work carried out in Zimbabwe.

This forms part of the total cost given above and is payable within one month of being offered a volunteering place.

(Most volunteers go off traveling rather than heading straight back to their country. Zimbabwe has such beautiful tourist sites and the local office can assist in bookings etc).

In addition to your programme fee, you will need to budget for your flights to and from your home country and Harare in Zimbabwe. Your programme fee includes travel from Harare to your project site. You will also need to allow for the cost of medical insurance, which is compulsory.

You will be expected to provide your own personal kit (i.e. sleeping bag, boots, backpack), and to pay for vaccinations and anti-malarial tablets (recommendations will be provided nearer the time). Finally, remember to budget for some spending money (for luxury items, stamps etc).

Zimbabwe is a fairly large country with lots of things in it to explore once you have finished your time. Nhaka Foundation strongly recommends that volunteers on the 2 and 4 week programme allow at least 1 extra week for traveling.
