How You Can Get Involved

OUR FUNDRAISING GUIDE
There are various ways that YOU can take action to assist and suggestions include:
Funds Campaign
Setting up a fundraising campaign to benefit Nhaka Foundation is one of the quickest and easiest ways to raise money. You can organize to collect money in your dinning hall/lunch room, community stores, churches and a host of other areas where people generally converge.Programs to fundraise for:
Preschool Program Costs
Preschool building renovations and refurbishment: $3 500
Preschool furniture and equipment: $ 2 500,
Preschool meals for 130 children per year: $2000,
Preschool material support and teacher training: $2000
Sponsorship Program: Nhaka Foundation provides scholarships to boys and girls who are either infected or have been affected by HIV/AIDS. You or your group might choose to support the cost of providing scholarships to one or more children.Full tuition, books, and food for each boy or girl runs around $1 per day and $365 per year.
A Helpful Hint: Creating signs and leaflets about what you are fundraising for is the key to success. Please contact us if you’d like us to help you create a publicity campaign.
NB* We encourage companies to fund any of the above components as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Anyone and everyone has a role to play!
Nhaka Friend- Organize a Toy/Book Collection
We realize that as a Nhaka Friend, you may be unable to help in raising money but good at collecting material donations. The preschool program requires equipment such as toys, books, paper and any learning material. This is a very involving exercise and requires commitment and dedication. You can set up a toy collection box in your class, school or community center.
Invite Patrick to Speak
Since 2006 Patrick has travelled extensively in the US and Europe speaking in schools, colleges, conferences and public meetings. Inviting Patrick to speak at an event in your community can be used as a fundraising tool. Money can be raised by either charging a small fee, asking people to make a donation at the end of the speech, or in the cases of colleges, universities and companies, providing Patrick an honorarium earmarked for project implementation. Host a Fundraising Party
Another exciting and great way to fundraise for Nhaka Foundation is to host what we call a fundraising party. The host or hostess of the party will bring together 25 or more of their friends, relatives and neighbors for a lunch or dinner. A representative of Nhaka Foundation may attend this meeting to give a talk on our work and show video footage of this work. If not in Zimbabwe where possible a live link can be established with staff in Zimbabwe to give a talk on the work being carried out.
A Helpful Hint: These fundraising parties are generally fun to organize. We’ll also help you prepare materials such as invitations, and guide you through the process of hosting a successful lunch or dinner. If you wish to be a Nhaka Friend, responsible for a particular area send us an email at
